Description
So, more Pony Cross overs and this time we have Jack and Sally from Nightmare before Christmas.
I have to admit, this one was surprisingly easy. Though to clarify a few details here will not be;
Why doesn't Jack have an ear? ...He's a skeleton. Skeleton's don't have ears. So his design and pose wasn't that much different from the movie version; just a different jaw line and different proportions in the hind legs. I knew I wanted to make him tall and skinny, but I also wanted to really exaggerate his other features, make him more angular than he should be.
Sally needed to also have slightly different proportions from most ponies, since she is a doll, a frankenstien's monster. Her proportions needed to be a little slanted and off balance, so I gave her back a higher arch than I usually do, and so Jack and Sally both look like they belong in the same world gave them similar shaped skulls and jaw lines. Her hair was the easiest part; straight and long.
As for the scratchy colouring, That is the part that took the longest as I usually make my coloring soft and loose. If you watch the Nightmare before christmas, Halloween town is covering in scratches to make the set look like a 3D sketch. I wanted to try and implement that here.
The scene is an obvious copy of the final scene of the movie when Jack and Sally finally come together. I hand their front hooves over lap as if capturing the moment just before their embrace. Its so odd that a character that has no eyes is still able to emote so much emotion. Anyway, Hope you guys enjoy this cross over.
